Innovating Skills for the AI Era: Scott Wolfson’s Journey from TV News to Tech Entrepreneurship
August 7, 2025
Scott Wolfson pitches at the recent Pitch Party Sylva!
At the recent Pitch Party Sylva, one attendee stood out immediately:  Local entrepreneur Scott Wolfson, sporting a bold, colorful shirt and equally vibrant shoes. His eye-catching style refllects the creative energy and bold thinking he brings to his startup, Centaurian AI, where he and his team are reimagining how professionals build skills in the age of AI.

From Broadcasting to Building Startups

Scott began his career in TV news before moving into marketing and public relations. He then spent over a decade as an innovation and strategy consultant with KPMG, a global tax and professional services firm, and BCG (Boston Consulting Group), one of the world’s leading management consulting firms.
A year and a half ago, he leapt into tech entrepreneurship. Today, as co‑founder of Centaurian AI, he develops AI‑assisted learning tools that integrate neuroscience, game design, and technology.

His founding team includes:

  • Kes Sampanthar – AI, game design, and neuroscience specialist
  • Noah Frank – AI governance and vibe coding innovator
  • Daniel Wolfson – Scott’s brother and audience engagement expert
Scott & Kes Sampanthar, co-founders of Centaurian AI.

AI-Powered Learning for Professionals

The team’s first major success was a cognitive skills simulation for a Big 4 accounting firm, helping tax professionals strengthen problem‑solving skills as AI takes over routine tasks.

Building on that success, Centaurian AI is now:

  • Expanding into a full learning and development platform
  • Launching a “Getting Thinks Done” metacognition toolkit
  • Developing digital companion apps and AI-powered enhancements

Rethinking How Professionals Learn

Centaurian AI’s ambition extends to:

  • Business school simulations to modernize traditional teaching
  • Professional skills training for consulting, social media, and other industries
  • An AI-powered cognitive learning platform that teaches how to think, not just what to know

As Scott puts it, “Most tools teach facts. We want to help people develop the thinking skills that matter most in today’s AI world.”

A Bold and Bright Future

Like many startups, Centaurian AI is balancing product development, funding, and recruiting, including the potential hiring of a CTO. Scott credits Hatch’s entrepreneurial ecosystem with helping refine their concept and connect with local talent and partners.
