Flipping the Script: Investors Present Directly to Entrepreneurs at Capital Marketplace Event

Entrepreneurs seeking investment opportunities are invited to attend a unique event called “Capital Marketplace,” hosted by Hatch Innovation Hub, Venture Asheville, and Mountain Biz Works, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Hatch Innovation Hub.

The Capital Marketplace is designed to turn the traditional pitch event on its head. Instead of entrepreneurs pitching their businesses to potential investors, it’s the investors who will take the stage. Each investor, whether representing a bank, CDFI, private capital group, or other financial institution, will have just one minute to pitch their services to an audience of entrepreneurs. This innovative format allows entrepreneurs to hear directly from capital providers about how they can support business growth and innovation in the community.

“There’s a widely-held belief that we don’t have enough capital to support entrepreneurs in WNC.” Said Venture Asheville Executive Director Jeffrey Kaplan. “In fact, there are many funding organizations. The issue is with awareness and a mis-match between funder and entrepreneur. The Capital Marketplace will be a short-cut for entrepreneurs trying to get a handle on the landscape out here, as well as a great opportunity to get a warm introduction.

Following the pitches, there will be ample time for networking, giving entrepreneurs the chance to connect with various capital providers, ask questions, explore potential partnerships and enjoy some light refreshments.

This event is open to all entrepreneurs, with a particular focus on those seeking investment within the next 12 months.
